WARRANTY

When does a Berria warranty apply?

This warranty applies only to bicycles, bicycle frames or accessories purchased new from an official Berria dealer and assembled by that dealer at the time of purchase. Berria warranty coverage is limited to the original owner only and is not transferable.

In which cases is the guarantee void?

  • Berria products purchased from unauthorised dealers.
  • Damage or breakdown caused to bicycles and/or riders where the bicycle was assembled by non-authorised Berria dealers.
  • Use of the bicycle for abnormal, competitive and/or commercial activities or for purposes other than those for which the bicycle was designed.
  • Defects caused by product misuse, accident, extreme weather or conditions, natural disaster, normal wear and tear, etc., are outside of warranty coverage. Berria can provide repair or replacement at a charge through the after-sales service.
  • Bicycles whose maintenance or repair is carried out by persons who are not official Berria dealers.
  • Damage caused by failure to follow the instructions in the owner's manual.
  • When the original model is modified and/or altered (e.g. painting or lacquering a painting voids the warranty), as this may cause serious damage to the material.
  • Normal wear on components such as tyres, chains, (chainrings), brakes, cables and sprockets in situations where there are no assembly or material defects.
  • Use during a competition voids the warranty.
  • Bicycles for rental whose incidence exceeds the legal limit of 3 years from the date of invoice.

In which cases does the guarantee not apply?

Normal wear on components such as tyres, bolts, bearings, threads, chains (chainrings), brakes, cables and sprockets in situations where there are no assembly or material defects.

How to claim a guarantee?

Go to the official Berria dealer where you purchased or picked up the product to start the process. In order for the application to proceed, you must bring proof of purchase.

How long do I have to wait to receive confirmation of a warranty claim?

Once all the required information has been received, the standard waiting period is 2 to 3 working days. If your claim is accepted, Berria will provide the replacement product within 15/30 working days if it is in stock. If the product or part to be replaced is not in stock, the wait may be extended until the product in question is available.

BERRIA Program Exclusions: Local Hero

As part of the launch of the Club and Local Hero Program, Berria Bikes extends the standard warranty conditions to bikes intended for racing, with the following additional provisions:

1. Warranty coverage

Racing bicycles purchased under the Hero Club and Local Program will be covered by the same standard warranty conditions applicable to recreational bicycles, provided they meet the following requirements:

  • Registration of racing bicycles:

    • The owner must register the bicycle as a “competition bicycle” within 30 days from the date of purchase.
    • The registration must include the product serial number and any additional information required by Berria.
  • Prior trademark authorization:

    • Registration and activation of the warranty for racing bikes will be subject to prior authorization from Berria, which will confirm the product's eligibility for this extension.
  • First owner:

    • As with the standard warranty, this coverage is limited exclusively to the first registered owner of the bicycle.

2. Exclusions

The following conditions will not be covered under this extension:

  • Damage resulting from accidents, misuse, negligence or modifications that alter the original design of the bicycle.
  • Normal wear and tear of components such as chains, brakes, sprockets, tires, among others, except for manufacturing or assembly defects.

3. Benefits of the competition warranty

  • Legal Warranty: Coverage for 3 years from the date of purchase.

*Berria Lifetime Warranty: this is the guarantee for the useful life of the product, in this case it would be 8 years from the date of issue of the purchase invoice. The depreciation of a frame is the decrease in value of the frame over time. To calculate depreciation, you can use the straight-line method, which is the simplest method. The straight-line method of depreciation involves dividing the value of the bicycle by the amount of time, in years, it will have a useful life. For example, if the original cost of the bicycle is €200 and it is expected to have a useful life of 5 years, the depreciation expense would be equal to dividing €200 by 5 years. This would equate to €40 depreciation per year 1.

What to do if the guarantee is not valid?

The customer will have the option of ‘crash replacement’ on the damaged product or part as long as the official Berria technical service considers it appropriate. This Replacement Programme or Loyalty Programme will be notified by the official Berria technical service once the specific case has been analysed.

Why do I need to show proof of purchase to claim a warranty?

Proof of purchase will help Berria determine if the product is still within the warranty period. Without this information, Berria reserves the right to refuse warranty. Berria encourages all new Berria bicycle owners to register their new bicycle through our websites and/or by using the QR located on each frame: https://berriabikes.com/pages/garantia
