BERRIA VITTORIA UCI FACTORY TEAM
GOLD IS COLOURED WITH BERRIA
It has been an unforgettable few weeks for the Berria-Vittoria Factory team, racing the French XC Marathon Championships in Campérieu, in the Mont Massif, followed by the French XCC and XCO Championships in Jeumont.
Berria Vittoria Factory Team stood out with 3 podium finishes for Léna Gérault, including the title of French XC Marathon Champion for the 5th consecutive time and second place in the French XCO Championship!
French XC Marathon Championships
- Gold for Léna Gérault -
At the start of this race, Léna Gérault was putting her tricolor jersey back on the line. She kept a cool mind and set off confidently on this demanding 63km course. The first technical section of the track allowed Léna to use her technical skills to get ahead. After that, it was a race of management that she managed to win this new title of French XC Marathon Champion, her fifth in a row! Winning in 3h15'30'', Léna finished ahead of Estelle Morel and Margot Moschetti.
French XCC Championships
- Léna Gérault 3rd -
A front row start for Léna Gérault in this French XCC Championship. The course is fast, committed and explosive, with every pedal stroke and every watt expended counting. After two laps, Léna Gérault took the lead, alongside Noémie Garnier and Flavie Guille, who came back. Despite feeling good, Léna got caught out on the last lap and was forced to put her foot down.
She ended up on the 3rd step of the podium.
French XCO Championships
- Léna Gérault 2nd & Lucie Urruty 8th
Léna Gérault and Lucie Urruty took the start of the French XCO Championships. They set off for a 5-lap race but had to remain cautious as the circuit had changed considerably on some sections due to the rain the day before. It's a race of strategy and riding to stay ahead. Léna Gérault and Loana Lecomte took a lead from the end of the first lap, with Lucie Urruty chasing in 3rd place. For 3 laps, Lucie remained on the provisional podium, the Berria Vittoria Factory staff fully behind this magical podium. Léna and Loana fight for seconds at the front, until Léna got a puncture on lap 4. After that, it was hard to make up for lost time. After a very great battle, Léna took a magnificent 2nd place, and Lucie crossed the line in 8th position.
HIGH PERFORMANCE MEETS RACING DNA
We are proud to announce the launch of our first professional UCI Elite MTB XCO team: the Berria Vittoria Factory Team.
The UCI-registered team will be led by Jérôme Dericbourg and this alliance marks a new chapter for a cross country outfit that has already won three national titles and eight top 10 results at the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in 2022.
We have riders of the highest level, such as Léna Gérault, three-time French Cross Country Marathon champion who will once again represent the team and will be accompanied by Lucie Urruty, two-time French U23 Cross Country champion, Jana Czeczinkarová, current Czech Cross Country champion, and Sean Fincham, three-time Canadian champion, all of whom are new signings.
Our team will compete on the UCI 2023 Mountain Bike World Tour and will make its first competitive appearance at the International Catalan MTB Cup in Banyoles, France, on 25 and 26 February.
All four athletes will ride our flagship cross country mountain bike, the Mako BR LTD, in the team's custom colours.
The Berria Vittoria Factory Team is our first foray into the world of elite mountain bike racing with an official team and represents another new adventure for our brand.
"This team was formed to provide a professional structure and support framework that will allow our athletes to maximise their potential and give them the best chance of achieving their goals. All members of the team are dedicated to fulfilling that mission and we are delighted to have joined forces with Berria, who share the same passion for the project as we do.
